A Rhode Island man is being held at Sullivan County Correctional Center in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. Police say John Kusinski 30 of Providence, Rhode Island was a passenger in the back seat of a Manchester Taxi en route to Sunapee NH the back seat, when he began to choke taxi driver Eric Milanese. Milanese drove the taxi into the side of Evans Express Mart building in order to get attention and help. Kusinski then pulled Milanse into the back seat and said “just face it you are going to die tonight.” Milanese was able to get away and run into the store but Kusinski took off in the taxi. He was apprehended a short time later by Officer Adam Lantiegne of the Sunapee Police Department. Kusinski was arraigned on Wednesday with Aggravated DWI, a Class A Misdemeanor, Theft by Unauthorized Taking, a Class A Felony, and Second Degree Assault, a Class B Felony and was arraigned in Newport District Court. Lt E. Neill Cobb of the Sunapee Police Department said they added Simple Assault and Criminal Threatening to the above charges for the public’s safety. Kusinski’s probable cause hearing is Feb. 18 at 1:30 pm in Newport District Court.
