A fire on Camel Hump Road in Croydon just after 8 pm on Saturday quickly destroyed a 30×60 steel garage. Firefighters were busy on the scene until early Sunday morning. Croydon Fire Chief Steve Rizzo says the fire had already engulfed building when they arrived. A second steel 20×40 adjacent garage was saved from the flames. No one was injured during the fire. Newport, Goshen and Springfield NH assisted with mutual aid. Cause of the fire was from years of wood stove use drying out the timber in the walls of the building. The burnt structure adjacent to the Croydon Flat cemetery was used for equipment from a rental business.
