Claremont City Council to Look at Rental Inspections

claremont city hallClaremont’s City Council will be considering a Rental Assistance Inspection Program at their Wednesday meeting. Claremont resident and landlord Francis Gauthier would like to see a landlord registry. The registry would require landlords that own property in Claremont to register their properties and charge an annual fee per unit to cover the cost of maintaining the records, Gauthier also recommends a sliding scale fee based on how many times during the year city officials, such as police, fire, health inspector, etc., had been called to the property to handle various problems. The Claremont City Council meets this Wednesday Nov. 13 at 6:30 pm.
