DHHS Announces Two Changes in Food Stamp Program

snapThe New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Family Assistance (DFA) announced two changes to Food Stamp (FS) benefits. On October 1, most households will see a slight increase in benefits reflecting the costs of living. However, on November 1, most households will see a decrease in their benefits since extra funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 expires. “We are reaching out to all our clients that receive food stamp benefits so that they are aware of the changes and understand how this will affect them,” said DFA Director Terry Smith.
