As a thank you to the community, Claremont Opera House opens their next season with a FREE concert with East Bay Jazz. As a 10-piece ensemble, entertains with its authentic 40’s era preservationist style that focuses on re-living the ballroom dances and classic swing/blues concerts of the great big bands of the mid to late 20th century. Music styles include swing era vocal; jazz & blues standards; big band classics; and some R&B and Oldies from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. In the words of Gerry Grimo Director Keyboardist, Bassist and Vocalist, – “Our goal is to provide our musicians and our audience with an opportunity to re-live the classic sounds and arrangements of the Swing era and the mid-20th century. In the process, we also hope to turn today’s youth onto these sounds so that the ‘torch’ of this treasured American art form can continue to be passed on from generation to generation”. East Bay Jazz was founded in 1976 by Gerry’s brother, Steve with Gerry taking over in 1986 and has been performing throughout New England for the past 37 years.
