Vermont State Police identified the bodies of the murder suicide that took place early Tuesday morning on 14 Sunrise Road in Fairlee. Police say Troy Gray 45 shot a rifle striking and killing Rhonda Gray 43, before turning the weapon on himself. The Grays had a history of domestic violence with police citing numerous calls and protective orders going back to May. On July 25 Rhonda was cited to appear in court for giving false information to a police officer after she said that Troy was not at 14 Sunrise Drive when he was. And on Monday Troopers from Bradford also responded to the residence for a report that Troy was in the residence in violation of his conditions of release. The Vermont State Police take all incidents of domestic violence seriously and encourage victims to come forward and report when they are victims of crime. There are resources available through the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence online or through their 24/7 toll free hotline at 800-228-7395.
