Shumlin hails micro-distillery

siloVermont Gov. Peter Shumlin praised the state’s expanding microbrew and craft spirits industry yesterday morning during a visit to American Crafted Spirits in Windsor, a relatively new company producing vodka entirely from locally sourced materials.
Shumlin said the growing niche market for Vermont beer, liquor and wine a state with the most microbreweries per capita serves as an economic driver for both tourism and employment opportunities while showcasing the entrepreneurship of Windsor’s Artisans Park, a former industrial zone that now features the distillery along with Harpoon Brewery, Simon Pierce glass and a cheese shop. He hailed Silo vodka, the flagship product of American Crafted Spirits, for its all-Vermont ingredients. This story from the Eagle Times
