Springfield VT Man Homeless After Fire Guts Mobile Home

fireflamesA Springfield man was left homeless Saturday evening after a devastating three-alarm fire destroyed his mobile home and all his possessions, including his insulin.
Crews from multiple departments responded to Fairgrounds Road at roughly 6 p.m. for a fully-involved structure fire and immediately executed a defensive strategy to contain the smoke and flames, at one point reaching an estimated 40 feet, from engulfing neighboring homes.
The sole occupant of the mobile unit, 69-year-old Maynard Goshea, made it out of the burning building with minor first-degree burns. He fled the blistering fire in nothing but a pair of shorts and socks. This story from the Eagle Times.
