Sunapee Firefighters Get New Equipment

Chief rugglesThe Sunapee Fire Department now has 22 new FireHawkM7 Responder Air Masks that were purchase with a grant. Fire Chief Daniel Ruggles explained that the masks at Monday’s Selectboard meeting. The tanks have lights inside that warn Firefighters when they are getting low on air, and a sensor that goes off if a firefighter goes down during a fire allowing a rescue. The air masks can be refilled at the scene from one of Sunapee’s fire trucks that is equipped with extra canisters.
