The TENT is celebrating its 35th year of ministry during Bike week in NH and operated by members of various churches. Paul Davis President of Cornerstone Motorcycle Ministries has been with the ministry for 26 years and now runs the 9 day event. Davis explains the TENT’s humble beginnings started by Papa Joe Delio who felt a calling by the Lord and set up Coleman camp stove on a picnic bench and served coffee and cookies to the bikers traveling to and from Laconia.
What was a three day event has grown into nine days, serving 15,000 meals during that time. The group also has chapter in NJ, NY, and Vermont. Joe passed away last October but his wife Dee is still active in the organization and will be on hand to supervise the homemade lasagna for Friday’s night meal.
Although they are tax exempt nonprofit Cornerstone Motorcycles Ministries still pay their property tax since they don’t want anyone to think ill of the motorcycle group. And yes they still give away cookies filled with love homemade by many churches. The TENT is located on Route 9 in Antrim each year during motorcycle week. .
