Sunapee Loses Icon- Captain Dave Hargbol

daveThe Sunapee community lost an Icon on Sunday with the passing of Capt. David Hargbol of the MV Sunapee after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Hargbol was a Captain on Lake Sunapee for over 35 years and owned the MV Sunapee from 1980-2000. Captain Dave was known for his sense of humor, full face smile, good nature, and incredible knowledge and love for Lake Sunapee. WNTK staff and listeners will remember him for his lake reports and sun tanning index. He will live long in the memory of anyone who took one of his cruises.. Even during his illness Captain Dave would ride with his son in law Captain Tim Fenton on the MV Sunapee and also sailed with WNTK on a dinner cruise last September. Captain David Hargbol leaves his wife, Dianne, children Dustin, Lacy, and twins Krista and Casey. A scholarship in  honor of Captain Dave  is in the planning stage, details will be forthcoming. Farewell to friend and great man.
