Owner of the North Country Smokehouse has accused his long-time office manager of stealing over $600,000 from his business according to court document obtained by the Eagle Times. .
On Friday, Sullivan County Superior Court Judge Brian Tucker granted the company a $750,000 attachment on all real estate and property owned by ex-office manager Bonnie Johnson.
The court petition states Johnson wrote at least $606,000 in fraudulent checks to herself, and an unknown amount of money taken from the company credit card. Johnson bought a Mercedes SUV, a diamond ring worth $30,000, several Harley Davidson motorcycles, and several snowmobiles with the money, according to the petition.
