Jonas Paul-Emile, 26 and Emmanuel Badio, Jr. 41, both of Montreal plead guilty to immigration charges on Monday in US District Court, Rutland. The Border Patrol stopped Paul-Emile last October after he had briefly stopped along the Canadian Border in VT. The Border Patrol found Badio and a Dominican National, Juan Rodriguez-Castro in the car. Badio was deported to Canada from the United States in 2000, due to his extensive criminal record and not allowed to return. Rodriguez-Castro did not have permission or visa to enter the US. Chief Judge Christina Reiss sentenced Badio to 24 months in prison for being in the United States after being deported and Paul-Emile was sentenced to time served.
