New Hampshire Attorney General Michael Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert Quinn, Walpole Police Chief Michael Paquette, and Alstead Police Chief Marcello D’Alessandro announce that they are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place in the town of Walpole this afternoon.
The incident began with a report that a masked suspect had fled after committing an armed robbery in the town of Bellows Falls, Vermont. Officers from the Walpole and Alstead Police Departments pursued the suspect and were able to stop his vehicle in Walpole on Upper Walpole Road. In the ensuing confrontation, shots were fired by police, and the suspect died at the scene.
The identity of the deceased suspect is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. Officers from the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit and Troop C are conducting the investigation. See related story here.
