House Finance Committee Budget Rejects Casino Fees

NH houseThe New Hampshire House Finance Committee approved a budget that attempts to restore some of the cuts made in the last legislative session and not rely on Casino license fees to fund programs.
Governor Maggie Hassan included 80 million dollars in casino licensing fees in the budget she submitted to the house.
The House budget increases spending on higher education, creates a new office of innovation and efficiency, fully funds the developmental disability wait list, knocks the Liquor Commission down to a sole commissioner, expands Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, and in a controversial move , gives Hassan the power to reallocate dedicated funds to close the deficit for 2013.
