Good Samaritian Bill Provides Immunity for Reporting Illegal Drug or Alcohol Use

drugdeathsDrug-related deaths in New Hampshire outnumbered traffic deaths in four of the past five years and those deaths have doubled over the past decade, claiming 37,000 lives That’s according to the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union.
In that vane New Hampshire legislators want to provide immunity for anyone who calls 911 to report a drug or alcohol emergency and for the people they’re calling about.
The Good Samaritan bill goes before a Senate committee today. The Valley News reports former state and first responder Rep. Jenn Coffey, of Andover said it would help prevent deaths from overdoses. The bill does not extend immunity to someone dealing drugs or providing alcohol to minors..
