SRO for Budget Hearing

budgethearingOver 100 citizens from western, NH attended the NH Regional Budget Hearing with the House Budget Committee Monday night at Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center, in Claremont. The crowd was larger than expected and were lead to an overflow room to watch the hearing on a TV.
Spec Bowers of Sunapee made the argument for not increasing the gas tax, . Kenneth Stewart of Keene and Alice Chamberlain of Warner voiced their dislike of basing the budget on uncertain casino revenue. The last speaker of the evening was Claremont’s Chief of Police, Scott Alexander who spoke of the critical need for the NH Drug Task Force.
This was the fifth meeting held in the state during March.
