House Votes Down Parental Rights Bill

houseofrepNH voters will not be able to vote for a constitutional amendment that would have added “Parents have the natural right to control the health, education, and welfare of their children” under Article 2 of the NH Constitution after meeting defeat in the house on Wednesday.
The Bill would have required receiving 3/5 of a ballot vote if it passed. Although most of the votes were along party lines, several republicans voted against the bill including Representative James Grenier of Goshen and Representative David Kidder of New London.
