Multi Car/Tractor Trailer Crash Sends VT Firefighter to Hospital

W600px-I-91.svghat started as a single car accident in Windsor VT on I-91 quickly turned into a multicar/ tractor-trailer accident, which left two drivers with minor injuries and one firefighter with unknown injuries early Tuesday morning.
VT State Police say they responded to a single vehicle crash on the where the driver C.J Stevens 27, of Dehli, NY lost control of his 2003 Dodge Caravan vehicle and struck a guardrail.
While at the scene a 1996 Honda Accord driven by Douglas Bennett 52 of Springfield VT spun out and struck a guardrail also as it approached the scene. The vehicle was then struck by a tractor-trailer operated by Jan Fournier 32 of Coaticook, QC, which continued and struck a fire truck at the scene, injuring the firefighter while trying to escape the crash
A second tractor-trailer driven by Michel Drolet 49 also from Coaticook, QC was passing through the scene when it was struck by a tractor-trailer, which jack-knifed and was driven by Duane Chamberlain 32, of Windsor CT and hit the first tractor-trailer.
I-91 NB in Windsor was closed for over 8 hours and two drivers were transported to Mt Ascutney Hospital with minor injuries.The firefighter was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with unknown injuries. The crashes remain under investigation.
