Police Seek Car Thief with Preference for Jeeps

NH State Police are looking for a car thief who has a preference for Jeeps. Police say that on Thursday a black 2004 Jeep Liberty was taken from the parking lot at The Top of the Hill Store in Dalton NH. A 1998 green Jeep Cherokee left at the store and believed left by the suspect, which was stolen earlier in the day from St. Johnsbury VT.
Shortly after the Dalton theft, around 6 pm Lancaster Police reported that a 2002 white Jeep Cherokee registered in VT was reported stolen from the Jiffy Mart store on Main Street in Lancaster.
The Jeeps taken from St Johnsbury and Dalton were recovered, but police are still looking for the 2002 white Cherokee with Vt. plate FMC544.
The description of the suspect from Dalton matches the description of the suspect from Lancaster. He is described as a white male, 5’11 approximately 200 lbs, stocky build, with dark hair with a beard. He was wearing jeans, with a light colored t-shirt that had an American Flag with the words Tractor Supply above it. He was wearing a dark colored knit cap with a lighter colored banding around the top. Under the t-shirt, he was wearing a dark long sleeve shirt. If anyone has any information or sees the vehicle, call the NH State Police or the Lancaster Police Department.
