Two Alarm Fire Destroys Structure in Lebanon

fireLebanon Fire Department responded to a structure fire shortly before noon on Tuesday. The smoke from the blaze consuming the three-car garage and adjourning apartment at 109 Eastman Hill Road, Lebanon, prompted LFD to request a second alarm for tankers moments before their arrival.
A delay in reporting of the fire and high winds allowed rapid progression of the fire throughout the structure, and forced the initial attack team to move into a defensive operation. Soon afterwards, the second floor collapsed. Units from Hanover, Canaan, Enfield, Meriden, and Plainfield responded to the scene, while Hartford, VT and Norwich, VT fire departments covered the Lebanon Stations.
The fire is under investigation by both the Lebanon Fire and the New Hampshire Fire Marshalls office.
