RI Man Involved in People’s United Bank Robbery

bankrobberyHartford Police Department applied for an extraditable arrest for a Providence Rhode Island man, for his involvement in the armed robbery of People’s United Bank last Thursday. Police say information indicating Joseph Petracca, 46 was responsible for an armed robbery of the Citizen’s bank in Cumberland Rhode Island on Dec. 20 and the Washington Trust Bank in Cranston Rhode Island on Jan 13.
On Sunday, Cranston Police arrested Petracca in Providence RI. The Cumberland Police Department also served a search warrant on Petracca’s home and seized evidence linking him to the Rhode Island bank and People’s United bank Petrarca is being held in Rhode Island for the charge of Robbery First Degree by the Cranston Police. The Cumberland Police will be arraigning Petrarca later this week.
