A public hearing for House Bill HB 135 which eliminates the provision allowing a person to use deadly force anywhere he or she has a right to be, amends the definition of non-deadly force and repeals the provision granting civil immunity for the use of force in certain circumstances is today at 1:30 pm. The hearing is in the Legislative Office Building, room 204. The Bill’s lone sponsor is Rep. Steven Shurtleff Democrat District 11 Merrimack. Shurtleff sits on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety, and has been in his seat since 2004. He is a graduate of AA City College of Chicago.
