MV Mt. Kearsage Afloat

levelboatThe MV Kearsage is back on the straight and narrow, well straight and afloat, after taking on water Thursday afternoon and sinking into Sunapee Harbor. The Fenton family 10-year owners of the dinner boat said they received a call from a resident across the lake saying the boat’s stern was sinking.
All day Friday and most of Saturday, the Fenton Family, Marine Patrol, Sunapee Police and Fire, S.G. Reed of Claremont, scuba divers and American Crane worked to get the boat sitting upright, by using inflatable buoy’s and emptying the water little by little. Finally, late Saturday afternoon the boat was straight and owners and workers were able to board the boat to see the damage. Pete Fenton Jr. said it was a combination of things and not one issue. The Fenton family plans to have the dinner boat ready for the upcoming summer season.
