Fire Chief Rick Bergeron says the fire department applied for and received a grant from the Public Utilities Commission that paid 80% of the converting their oil system to a wood pellet boiler. This is the first winter the pellet boiler will be in use and the oil furnace will be a backup in case of extremely cold weather. The building originally was heated by coal, before the city converted it to oil in the 1950′s.
