Gingerbread Houses are part of the Holiday Season, and the McKenzie family from the Inn at Pleasant Lake, in New London enjoys decorating the Inn with their creations. Brian McKenzie says he has been making gingerbread houses since their first Christmas there 15 years ago. Now his children have joined in on the fun. This year he and his son made a replica of the Empire State Building.
There is also a replica of the Inn, and traditional gingerbread houses decorated with all things edible, from chocolate covered pretzels, liquorice sticks, and even gum. The staff also takes part in decorating the edible houses, Brian is often surprised by their creativity, and the goodies they used to decorate the gingerbread creations. Brian revealed some secrets to making the houses. You can stop by the Inn to see the creations during business hours
