Everett Gray of Cornish NH was still in pain on Sunday, three days after being gored by 8-point buck. The 8-point buck gored the 57-year old after Gray dropped it with a shot to the neck and went in to finish the kill with a knife. As he took the knife out to end the buck’s struggle, the beast lunged, cornered him on the ground, and dragged him down the ridge. “I’ve never been so scared in my life, I thought I was going to die,” Gray said in a phone interview. Gray twisted the antlers to get loose and then run to his home, where family took him to Mt.Ascutney Hospital. Ascutney transferred Gray to DHMC where he released later that evening. Gray is still recovering and said he keeps seeing the image of the buck’s antlers inside of him.
