Warren Ruman Former NH Senator – Dead at 82

Former NH US Senator republican, Warren Rudman passed away just short of midnight on Monday at George Washington Memorial Hospital. Complications from lymphoma ended the politician’s life at age 82. He served as New Hampshire Attorney General from 1970 until 1976 and elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980 where he served until his retirement in 1993. The former Senator co-authored the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings deficit reduction act, which helped, bring America’s finances under control in the 1980s. Rudman was instrumental in the appointment of US Supreme Court Justice, David Souter by President George H.W.
“Warren Rudman work tirelessly to serve the people of New Hampshire and the nation. As a leader in the U.S. Senate, he was someone who stuck to his principles, yet was able to reach across the aisle to work toward a bipartisan resolution on the issues of the day,” Governor Lynch said.
