NH Man Injured in Hit and Run Accident in VT

A Meredith NH man suffered multiple injuries after being a victim of a hit, run accident, on Saturday around 8 pm. Police say Dean Mason was putting fuel in his truck near the entrance to I-91, after he ran out gas. As he putting fuel in his truck , a mid-sized, black in color sedan, possible a Honda or Nissan squared up to him and accelerated towards him. Mason tried to jump in the bed of his truck but the car hit him and he went airborne. Mason told police the car did not brake and drove off. Mason was transported to DHMC with a compound femur fracture and head injuries.
Vermont State Police are looking for information in locating the vehicle. The car involved should have front windshield, hood, and passenger window damage. Police encourage the driver of the vehicle to turn himself or herself in as they face possible criminal charges.
