Newport School Board voted 4-0 to establish their tuition rates on a 3-year rolling average. Tuition rates vary from year to year and in the past have increased at times over $2,000 per student. Other years the tuition rate has dropped. The rolling average takes the average of the past three years and uses the average for the 4th year. The purpose is to eliminate spikes and dips in tuition and school tax rates. Newport’s tuition rate for the 2013-2014 school year is $13,082 for elementary school, $13.315 for middle school, and $15,045 for high school students. The tuition rates apply to students from Goshen, Unity, and Croydon.
