Vermont to Hold Radiation Emergency Exercise

Vermont’s full-scale emergency exercise for responding to a radiation emergency from a transportation incident or dirty bomb takes place on Thursday, Oct. 25.
Only state, regional, and federal planners know details of the exercise. All other responders will operate as if it was a real event. An estimated 200 local, state, New England, and Federal responders will participate as players, evaluators, or observers.
The daylong exercise takes place at the Vermont Fire Academy in Pittsford, the State Emergency Operations Center in Waterbury, and the Health Department’s Operations Center in Burlington.
