Colby Sawyer Celebrates 175 Years

Residents of New London, graduates, and past instructors of Colby Sawyer College join in celebrating the College’s 175th Anniversary on Friday. Town and College official celebrated their long relationship through its 175 years of the school being in New London. The college went through many name changes starting as New London Academy and then becoming New London Literary and Scientific Institution, Colby Academy, Colby School for Girls, Colby Junior College, Colby College-New Hampshire, and finally, Colby-Sawyer College.
Kelli Bogin Archivist for Colby Sawyer College invites area residents to drop into the Susan C. Cleveland Library at the school M-F 8am -5 pm to enjoy the exhibit of the artifacts of the 175 history of the college, which will be on display all year.
