Councilor Raymond Burton’s NH Division of Forests and Lands Field Tour on Friday stopped at the Flying Goose Pub, but it wasn’t for drinks. It was to tour the pub’s integrated biomass pellet boiler system. Owner Tom Mills installed the pellet boiler, which cuts the business’ dependence on fossil fuels. Ted Fountain of New Day Energy gave the tour and explained the efficiency, space requirements, and saves about 35 percent by burning the wood pellets. The Flying Goose Pub received the Sustainable Business of the Year Award from the New London Energy Committee.
