Red Cabbage, It’s Good for You

Jaoliga Trojanowski touted the benefits of red cabbage at the 23rd Annual St. Joseph’s Parrish, Polish Cooking Class in Claremont on Tuesday. Trojanowski claims the purple variety is far superior health wise and is low in fat, high in fiber, and may help support weight loss since it increases your body’s production of the hormones, adiponectin which metabolizes fat and leptin, which suppresses the appetite.
The once a year cooking class has a long history, with many fans returning year and year, not only for the instruction and sampling, but for the friendship and the fun, like Joan Cornell who has been attending the event for the past 12 years says “It’s for the food, friendship and learning Polish.”
