Vermont State Police Ask Help in Identifying Would Be Armed Robber

Vermont State Police are asking the public in helping identify a suspect in an attempted-armed robbery at Aldrich’s General Store on Route 5A in West Burke VT. Police say, on Sunday afternoon a man with his face half covered with a red bandana entered the store holding a knife with a four to five inch blade then told the clerk to open the drawer and no one would get hurt. The clerk ran outside and yelled for neighbors to call the police. The suspect fled the store on foot, and the clerk followed him to see him getting into blue Chevrolet Lumina. The suspect is approximately 5 foot 10 inches, 135 pounds, dark eyes, and a fresh red scratch under his left eye next to his nose.
