Vermont Visitors Asked to Take Pledge

Marking the anniversary of Irene and peak occupancy of Vt. Hotels for Labor Day Weekend, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is encouraging travelers to Pledge to Prepare.
“Vermont travelers should pledge to be prepared this holiday weekend,” said FEMA Deputy Federal Coordinating Officer Steve Ward.
FEMA wants travelers and guests to prepare for emergencies by building an emergency kit and applying FEMA guidelines for items to pack while traveling, a flashlight, water bottles, battery-powered radio and anything you may need in the event of an emergency while traveling or away from home. The agency is also encouraging travelers to know evacuation routes in hotels.
