Foul Play Ruled Out in Worker’s Drowning

A long time employee of Hawk Resort, in Plymouth VT died while fixing a floating trampoline in Amherst Lake. Michael Bivins 48, of Bridgewater Corners VT worked as a grounds keeper for the Resort for 23 years and fixed the flotation device in the past.. Witnesses report that shortly after noon on Sunday Bivins was thrashing around in the water and they called 911.
Police believe Bivins’ boat floated away and while trying to retrieve it, Bivins drowned or suffered from an unknown medical episode, he was an experienced swimmer.
Bivins was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiners Office for autopsy; which is scheduled for Monday. No foul play is suspected.
