Senators Pryor and Ayotte Pen Cyber Security Act

US Senators Mark Pryor (D-AR) and Kelley Ayotte (R-NH), who each serve on the Senate Commerce Committee, expressed concerned over current law enforcement tools due to expire next year that are used to combat global Internet scams.
Pryor and Ayotte wrote U.S. SAFE WEB Act. The legislation extends the current authorities until 2022 and provides the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with enforcement tools in key areas of information sharing, investigative assistance, confidentiality, enhanced investigative litigating tools, and enforcement relationships.
“As a former prosecutor and Attorney General, I worked closely with law enforcement officials to combat and prosecute fraud and scams,” said Senator Ayotte.
