Governor John Lynch announced on Thursday that Department of Employment Security Deputy Commissioner, Darrell Gates is suspended with pay, pending further investigation.
Gates took the position in July of 2000, after being the Director of the Unemployment Compensation Bureau for over 5 years. He has worked for the department for 28 years.
“The Council and I believe these allegations of misconduct are serious and that suspension is the appropriate action to take pending further investigation,” Governor Lynch said.

The action comes one day after NH Employment Security Commissioner Tara Reardon resigned amidst charges of nepotism. Readon attributed to the charges to a disgruntled employee.
