Republicans Energized at Gubenorial Debate

Over 500 energized republicans attended The Granite State’s Political Institute Republican Gubernatorial Debate at the Center of NH on Wednesday evening to hear candidates Ovide Lamontagne and Kevin Smith debate the issues facing NH, school choice, expanded Medicaid, business growth, right to work and taxes. The candidates differed on how they would implement their plans. Lamontagne said he would spend his first day in office mandating department heads pursue “zero-based” budgets to save money. Smith stated that was difficult to do that but would implement a 97% percent budget.
House Speaker William O’Brien. John Burt of Granite State Political Institute, and Alex Talcott, a member of the New Hampshire Young Republicans, moderated the debate.
