Vermont State Trooper Resigns after making $136,000 by Allegedly Padding Time Sheets

Vermont’s Gov Shumlin held a press conference on Tuesday regarding State Trooper James Deeghan, 49, of Colchester who resigned after allegedly padding his timesheets. Deeghan made $136,000 with $56,000 of it in overtime last year. The total fraudulently billed money is unknown. “We do want you to know that we will keep you abreast as we go forward to make sure that you have the information you need as we discover it,” Shumlin said
