On the eve of the Supreme Court’s Decision on Obamacare six NH Gubernatorial Candidates met with the public and members of the media to discuss their views on NH Health at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College.
Dividing along party lines the three democrats, Maggie Hassan, Bill Kennedy, and Jackie Cilley were in favor of the “Affordable Health Care Act,” Bill Kennedy went a step further, noting calling it Obamacare was disrespectful since it was a bi partisan bill which passed.
John Babiars Libertarian, agreed with Kevin Smith and Ovide Lamontagne both Republican Candidates that Obamacare is the wrong way to fix NH healthcare..
Cilly’s opening statement had less to do with health care then the need for more bridges and union type jobs to keep our young people here, noting a NH has an aging population.
Smith would allow flexible alternative plans to cost-driving coverage mandates, and overhaul burdensome state requirements on health care providers.
Lamontagne wants to have more than the two health care providers currently in the state. Mentioning that 50 other health insurance companies are license to sell in NH but the state has made it difficult. Nothing Virginia residents pay less for health care and is ranked as a less healthier state.
