Trained volunteers enable hospice patients to keep their pets with them with the Pet Peace of Mind Program run by the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of VT and NH (VNAH).
The program provides helping hands and financial assistance to hospice patients with their pet’s needs. Pet companions are able to stay with patients until they complete their end of life journey.
The VNAH aided its first hospice family in October 2010 and to date Pet Peace of Mind has assisted numerous hospice families that include 39 cat, 9 dogs, and 2 birds. To learn more about the program visit www.vnavnh.org
